I came across a seeded article, that at first, I do admit, I thought was about something I had already read about.
But, then I did read the seeded article and realized it was about something completely different.
What was interesting to me, were the comments left by others, referring to something that this article was not about. This was not your average thread hijack, where someone trys to change the flow of the comments to something it is not.
This was commenting as if it were a different story, even after being asked if they had read the story.
It would almost be funny, if the seeded article had not been about a 9 yr old who defaced a park with a sharpie, and people commented as if it were a story about a 9 yr old charged with murder.
So, now I wonder, has this ever happened to you, on any of your articles? Do you read all of an article before you comment?
Personally I will admit, there are many seeds that I click on, because they sound interesting, but then the story is either boring, a non story, a rehash of something I have already read, an opinion masked as an article, or just not interesting. In that case I might not finish reading it, but then I don't comment on it.
the story I am referring to is this
